Trek Past Salkantay to Machu Picchu.
5 days/4 nights


Description

We begin in Mollepata, above the Apurimac River, and cross the mountains to Machu Picchu, above the Urubamba River. We pass under the shadow of Salkantay, the Apu of the range, to which the Incas offered up all the fruits of their labours.

 
 
 
 
 
 

ITINERARY

 

First Day

We pick you up from your hotel early in the morning for going by bus to Mollepata town ,which is situated to 3 hours from the Cusco city where we start to talk during 3 hours approximately. We have lunch and then we continue with the treking until Soraypampa where we rest the first night.

Second Day

After the breakfast we start the trekking for making our first step,which the high is 4600 m.s.n.m. where it’s posible see Umantay and Salkantay picks .Then we go down and we can see different lands and we can feel the change because we will be enter to the eyebrow of the jungle, then we pass for Huayrac, Rayampata and Challway comunities for seeing the costumes of the people who live there. This day we accamp in Collcapampa.

Third Day

The breakfast is early in the morning .We start our adventure and we can observ the costumes that the people keep in Collpachaka and Lluscamayo communities. We have lunch here and finally we continue to Sahuayaco where we rest.

Fourth Day

After the breakfast we have to abord our transport for going to Santa Teresa .The trekking will be around 3 hours and we arrive to the Hidroelectric, during our travesty we will found different kinds of frutal trees. We have lunch here. Then we go to Aguas Calientes where we rest in a hotel .

Fifth Day

We get up at 5.00 a.m. and we have breakfast, then we take our bus to Machupicchu from this place we can see the sunrise, after we are visiting Machupicchu with our guide during 1.30 to 2.00 hours aproximately. Finally we came back to Aguas Calientes and we take the train and return to Cusco.
